User Agreement & Privacy Notice
Welcome to SkinOracle. Please read this Agreement carefully—by creating an account, visiting skinoracle.wiki, or otherwise using any SkinOracle Online Services (collectively the “Services”), you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms. If you are under 18 years of age, or if you disagree with any part of this Agreement, you must not access or use the Services.
Plain‑language summary
• SkinOracle helps you track and assess your skin health, but it is not a medical device and does not diagnose disease.
• We collect and protect certain personal data in order to operate the Services, as explained in the Privacy Notice below.
• The Services are currently free to use; if this changes we will inform you in advance.
• Your data are stored securely and deleted 12 months after you close your account.
• You may ask to view, correct, or erase your data at any time.
1. Definitions
SkinOracle, we, our or us – SkinOracle and its affiliates.
User or you – any natural person who accesses or uses the Services.
Assessment – an automated analysis of a user‑supplied skin image to estimate the likelihood of common dermatological conditions.
Content – text, graphics, images, audio, video, or other materials made available through the Services.
2. Scope of the Services
SkinOracle operates the public website skinoracle.wiki.
The Services allow you to:
capture and store photographs of individual skin areas,
receive algorithmic Assessments and educational material, and
set reminders and track changes over time.
SkinOracle may improve, expand, restrict, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Services at any time. Material adverse changes will be announced in advance.
3. Eligibility and User Account
To create an account you must:
be at least 18 years old; and
provide a valid e‑mail address (used as your username).
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities performed through your account. Notify us immediately at info@skinoracle.wiki if you suspect any unauthorised use.
4. No Doctor‑Patient Relationship
All information supplied by SkinOracle is for informational and self‑management purposes only. The Services do not constitute medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, nor do they create a doctor‑patient relationship. Always seek the advice of a qualified health professional with any questions about your skin or other medical conditions.
5. Contra‑Indications
The Assessment function is not recommended for lesions that:
are on dark (Fitzpatrick Type V–VI) or sunburned skin;
lie under nails, in skinfolds, on mucosal surfaces, or within scar tissue;
have been previously biopsied or excised;
are bleeding, ulcerated, heavily haired, or covered by tattoos, cosmetics, or creams.
Using the Assessment on these lesions may yield unreliable results. If in doubt, consult a physician.
6. Intellectual Property
The name “SkinOracle,” the circular logo, and all software, designs, and Content are the exclusive property of SkinOracle or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. You may view and download one copy for personal, non‑commercial use, provided you do not modify any Content or remove proprietary notices.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
upload images that violate the Contra‑Indications in §5;
copy, modify, reverse engineer, or distribute any part of the Services;
share false, misleading, or illegal content;
use the Services for diagnostic or treatment purposes on behalf of third parties unless you have a separate professional agreement with us.
8. Privacy Notice
8.1 Data We Collect
Identification: e‑mail address, profile details, language preference;
Health data: images you upload, questionnaire answers, Assessment results (collected only with your explicit consent);
Device & usage: IP address, device type, operating system, browser, and interactions with the Services.
8.2 Why We Use Your Data
Contract: to create your account, perform Assessments, and deliver reminders;
Legitimate interest: to improve the Services, prevent fraud, and respond to enquiries;
Consent: to send optional marketing messages and store health‑related data;
Legal obligation: to comply with applicable laws and regulations.
8.3 Data Sharing
We share data only with:
cloud‑hosting and analytics providers who act under our instructions;
research institutions in anonymised or aggregated form; and
authorities when legally required.
We never sell personal data.
8.4 Storage & Retention
Personal data are stored on encrypted servers located in secure data centres. We keep your identifiable data while your account is active and for 12 months after you delete it, after which we erase or irreversibly anonymise the records. Anonymised images may be retained indefinitely for algorithm research and quality control.
8.5 Your Rights
At any time you may:
request a copy of your data;
ask us to correct or erase inaccurate data;
withdraw consent (affects future processing only);
object to marketing communications; and
lodge a complaint with the relevant data‑protection authority in your jurisdiction.

9. External Links
The Services may contain links to third‑party websites or resources. SkinOracle does not endorse and is not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or content of such external sites. Your use of any third‑party site is at your own risk and subject to that site’s terms and policies.
10. Warranties & Disclaimers
The Services are provided “as is” and “as available” without any express or implied warranties, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non‑infringement, or that the Services will be uninterrupted, error‑free, or free from harmful components.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, SkinOracle shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, nor for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill arising out of or in connection with the Services. Our aggregate liability for direct damages shall not exceed the total amount you have paid to us, if any, in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in this Agreement excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by gross negligence, or for fraud.
12. Termination
You may stop using the Services and delete your account at any time. SkinOracle may suspend or terminate your access if you breach this Agreement or if we discontinue the Services.
13. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
Unless otherwise required by mandatory consumer laws, this Agreement and any dispute arising out of or relating to it shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of your country of residence. Parties shall first attempt to resolve disputes amicably; if unsuccessful, disputes may be submitted to the competent courts of that country.
14 Changes to this Agreement
We may revise this Agreement to reflect improvements, legal requirements, or changes to our business model. We will notify you of material changes before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
